About
Mark R. Wegmann joined Vilar Law, P.A. in 2015 and has devoted his practice exclusively to family law. He represents clients in all aspects of family law litigation, including divorce, paternity, child support, custody and time-sharing disputes, and post-judgment matters.
Mr. Wegmann is known for his thoughtful approach, strong legal analysis, and commitment to helping clients make informed decisions during what is often one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Education & Judicial Experience
Mr. Wegmann earned his law degree from Florida International University College of Law.
During law school, he interned for two summers with the Honorable Judge Gill Freeman while she presided over the Complex Business Litigation Division.
This experience allowed him to:
- Develop advanced legal research and writing skills
- Gain insight into judicial decision-making
- Understand how courts evaluate evidence and legal arguments
Although he enjoyed litigation, it was during a Family Law Clinic in his final semester of law school that he discovered a passion for helping families through difficult transitions.
Experience Inside the Court System
After graduating from law school, Mr. Wegmann worked with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Family Case Management Unit.
Working closely with family court judges and court staff gave him valuable experience from the court’s perspective and a unique understanding of:
- Family court procedures
- Judicial expectations
- Case management strategies
- The impact litigation has on families and children
This experience continues to provide significant value to clients as he guides them through the legal process.

Outside the office, Mr. Wegmann enjoys spending time with his wife, Katrina, and their two children, Benjamin and Penelope.
He is also an accomplished ballroom dancer, having spent much of his youth learning and training at his father’s dance studio.
